Band Members

Dave Houseknecht -
" The Supreme Intelligence "- Equipment
Dave is a founding member of Pepper Street and a constant reminder of what a megalomaniac with the musical knowledge of a slow 3rd grader taking violin lessons wia the Suzuki method is capapble of. Not for the faint of heart, but very entertaining. Dave is lead vocals and plays rhythm/lead guitar, bass and keyboard.
When Dave isn't holding audiences in awe of his immense talents on the six string, he's breaking their backs with his bare hands. No, not really, but he does have a very successful chiropractic office in Danville should you ever need one.

Rick Martin - " Tundar the Drum Overlord "- Equipment
Rick is the other founding member of Pepper Street still with the band. Rick has the task of pounding the skins for the band and handling some lead vocals as well. He's also a very good driver. I'm not kidding, he drives dragsters at very high speeds, (although Montgomery's PD is getting a bit annoyed with him). His wife/drum tech Sharon, ensures that the drums are assembled and miked to code. I think she could probably do this in her sleep, she is that efficient.
When Rick isn't keeping the beat, or laying rubber as they say, he is working at Andritz in Muncy.

Pete Codispoti - " Peter Gozinia "
- Equipment
Pete is considered one of the area's best vocalists. He has been in the music scene for over 40 years. Having played all over the world in the Navy band and backing artists like the Mills Brothers, Pete is no newbie to the stage. In addition to singing, Pete also plays keyboards, guitar, bass and trumpet. He's a featured singer in the group Banned Together, as well as Brothers and Others, another local supergroup.
Pete enjoys spending time with his family and grandchildren and can't see a day when he isn't involved in music somehow. When he isn't in the spotlight on the stage, he is a senior programmer with Brodart, also known as "computer geek extreme". His favorite question at gigs.... "Do you ladies believe in the hereafter... then you know what I'm here after". Yeah, he's a dog, but a nice dog!

Bob Yoas - " Mike Oxbig "- Equipment
Bob is really enjoying being part of Pepper Street. You can't beat playing great songs with fun guys who check their egos at the door. He generally prefers to be in the background most of the time, so like George Harrison, he's considered "the quiet one". But when he does step out front, watch out for his danger. His instrument of choice is bass, but he also sings, plays keyboard and guitar. Before joining Pepper Street, he was in the band Rubber Soul, a Beatles homage band, for over 12 years. His biggest brush in music was playing bass on a gig for the late Bo Diddley a number of years back. He also played in Sound Cheque with Loni Gamble, Rhythm Face, West End Country Band, Bluezilla, Shadetree Mechanics, Party on the Patio, Ten Penny Nail and his first band NightRider, with highschool friends, Dave Brumbaugh ( Uptown Music Collective, Site B), Joel B Vincent ( Blind Chitlin Kahunas ) and Beau Bodine (Isle of Q, Powervibe, Sweet Alkaline). Ah yes, those were the days. practicing in Joel's basement and Perrotto's Pizza.........
When Bob isn't providing low end frequencies for the band, he's working at Yoas Services, Inc.. Started by his grandparents in 1949, he is the third generation to work there. His daughter Danielle also works there making that the fourth generation. He also enjoys spending time with his wife Jennifer and his two beautiful granddaughters, Cadence and Rian. Cadence has already begun recording songs and will no doubt be the next Hannah Montanah if I'm lucky. Then it's off to retirement on the fortune that she will provide........ ok maybe not, but she is definitely headed for the spotlight. RiRi on the other hand just enjoys being RiRi. Off duty, he has built a recording studio ( Creekside Studios ) and dabbles in projects for friends, but hopes that it may grow into something more someday!

Bert Smeal - " The Mule "- Bert's World
Bert Smeal, mooo, is Pepper Street's utility guy moooooooooo. He not only runs sound for us, mooooooooo, he fills in for Rick occassionally on drums, moooooooo. Bert ran his own stereo shop for many years before working on medical equipment for Susquehanna Health Systems. He also builds professional quality go-kart engines on the side. Bert was a member of Brothers and Others for many years and is in a number of other projects now.
David Houseknecht Jr. - " The Big Bone"
Dave's son, David, joins us occasionally bringing his "big bone" with him. There is nothing like live horn to bring a song alive. His tonal additions in songs like Vehicle and Low Rider are impeccable.
David is currently studying at Susquehanna University.

Our Buddy Norm (in memorium)
Norm was Pepper Street's manager until the time of his passing in September of 2009. He was a tough but fair slave driver, always pushing us toward the dangerous side of music. We usually got our money quickly if we sent Norm in for it! Yeah, he may have slept through some practices, snoring louder than the pa, but noone walked with a more confident strut and an aura of coolness than our buddy Norm. We will miss him.

Our Lovely Lucy
Lucy is the newest member of the Pepper Street crew. Don't let the cuddly, precious mug of our new manager fool you. She will bite your leg off, grrrrrrrrrr. Ok, they would be small bites at a time, but she'd do it.
